Old Feb 10th, 2004, 10:37 PM        The adventures of NES and the spontaneous reset.
Does anyone remember how fragile the original NES was? How the slightest tap would cause the machine to reset, always when you had been playing all night and hadn't saved for hours? The closest I ever was to murdering anyone was the time when I was a kid playing dragon warrior and my younger brother came into the room and accidently kicked the Nintendo, causing it to continually reset. Of course, I was in the middle of a dungeon and hadn't saved for a very long time. I went into a rage and beat my brother senseless, a beating that, looking back, he probably didn't deserve. Even to this day, the Nintendo ranks as the touchiest system I have ever used. The amount of work I must do to get mine to work these days is unbelieveable, from cleaning everthing with rubbing alcohol, to sacrificing goats to the gods of electronics.
