Objective:

To obtain a position of resposibility within a stable orginization that will allow me to put my strong management and customer service skills to operation in a competitive work enviroment. The ideal job would allow for both team and individual achievement, with plenty of room for personal and professional growth.

Summary of Work Experince:

As a Managed Network Services Project Manager for Sprint I held a position of great responsibility. With little supervision I coordinated the complex task of implementating managed Wide Area Networks (WAN) for both international and domestic customers with an average account billing over ten thousand dollars a month. My duties required that I have exceptional customer service skills, and that I put them to use helping to ensure that the technical designs agreed upon by the customer computer engineers, and the Sprint computer engineers were completed without flaw, within budget, and on time. As the implementation of the customer networks proceeded I provided detailed status reports to my management, sales professionals, customers, and national and international vendors. Settled customer billing disputes and organized weekly meetings to bring together all the disparate elements involved in the WAN implemenation process to foster clear lines of communication. Utilized multiple computer software programs (Microsoft Office suite of programs, specialized data base programs) to provide total coverage of customer accounts.

In my role as Overnight Merchandise Flow Manager for Target Stores I was responsible for a crew of 35 people as well as the over night security of a multi million dollar department store. I handled the scheduling of all night employees. In assigning duties to members of my team, I held sole responsibility for ensuring that every individual understood their assignments and provided supervision, employee review, and career counseling. Teamed with members of the Human Resources division I conducted interviews and wrote position announcements to fill vacant positions. As only manager in the store at night I was part of an aggressive campiagn to prevent stock shrinkage from employee theft, and handled daily money drops with armoured security serivices. In addtion to the daunting task of moving at least two semi trailers of merchandise from stockroom to sale floor in an eight hour period, I also was charged with seasonal and sale display updates. In this capacity I designed window displays, and created end cap, and in store stock dispalys, as well as followed stock display directives issued by the store manager and corporate headquarters.

In the United States Marines I worked as an Aviation Weapons Team Leader. This position was a culmination of a ten year career and was a great honor to hold. I supervised Marines in groups of up to fifteen men in the maintenance of the weapons systems of the F-18 fighter aircraft. My duites included not only the maintenace of the the physical hardware of the aircraft such as the 20mm Vulcan gun system and missile/bomb racks, but the trouble shooting of electrical and computer systems on the aircraft. I held the responsibility of assuring that all maintenance preformed by my Marines was completed properly and conducted Quality Assurance and Safe for Flight inspections. Included with my maintenance duties I worked on the flightline supervisng the highly dangerous mission of loading missiles, bombs, and gun ammunition on aircraft. Once all weapons were loaded, then the task of supervising the safe launch and recovery of the aircraft on flight missions became the primary focus of my position. I was awarded a Navy Achievement medal for performing my duties above and beyond the already exacting standards required not only by the Marine Corps, but also by the inherent danger of handling high explosives and being responsible for the lives of my fellow Marines, the fighter pilots, as well as a thirty million dollar aircraft.

Education:

* Three years of progressive management training through University of Excellence curriculumn offered to select Sprint employees.

* Two years study at Costal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville NC.

* Two years study at Southern Illinois University in Jacksonville NC.

* Attended United States Marine Non-Commissioned Officers Academy.

* Completed over thirty Marine Corps Institute courses ranging from Anti-Terrorisim training to Mathematics, and several mechanical reapair courses including HVAC systems and personal computer hardware.

Throughout my working career I have attempted to take advantage of every educational opportunity available to me through my employers so that I could attain a strong skill set as a manager, and to develop myself as a person. I enjoy the opportunity to aquire new skills, and learn very quickly.
