Areté (the boards don't like Greek characters)
It really seems to me that my life is defined by choosing what mistakes to make, and afterwards figuring out which mistakes worked for the best.
I'm not whining like "OMG I'm a total fuckup everything I do is wrong". When the water's cold and you want to swim anyways, you just jump in and let yourself regret the act while mid-air. You know it's a mistake, but maybe the good will overcome the bad.
i guess the trouble is the very arbitrary nature of "mistake". I've done great things with dire consequences, and i've done dire things with great consequences.
I suppose that underlines my problem with life. I never think of things in the first-person ad hoc level, I think at the objective and omniscient level.
Let me make my mistakes, they've got me this far afterall. At least I already know what my last mistake will be.
