A proposal to end communism in North Korea.

In the world of today, the United States must cope with many different issues, from the war on terrorism, to a conflict with Iraq. Nevertheless, an often-overlooked issue these days is that of communism in North Korea, along with their possession of nuclear arms. Faced with such turmoil in our world today, it is important for our nation to reflect on our experiences in the past, with nations possessing such weapons of mass destruction, and use this as our guide. Not too long ago, our country was dealing with a much different and perhaps even more difficult enemy. But we persevered, with the guidance of a much greater leader than we have today. This man was our former president, Ronald Regan, and our opponent was the Soviet Union. Regan was one of the greatest American presidents of all time, because he realized that the standoff between the United States and the USSR could not continue forever, and that freedom, democracy, and capitalism desperately needed to prevail; which they did.

With the fall of the Soviet Union, the United States proved to the world that capitalism was, and still, is the better system; and we did this with never having to use one of our many, nuclear missiles against the Soviet Union. Showing the world that, nuclear war is not the answer, while becoming the world’s last remaining superpower; as stated by writer Al Franken. Even though communism was eliminated in Russia, it still prevailed in such nations as North Korea, China, Vietnam and Cuba. If Regan were still able to be involved in politics, he would recognize the threat that North Korea is, and he would take action. However, the American people are living with ineffective actions of President Bush, who refuses to take any action against the North Korean government to make sure that they do not have nuclear bombs. Nevertheless, America is a democracy, unlike North Korea, and if our president is not solving problems such as communism and nuclear arms in North Korea than he should be replaced with someone who will, and I know just the girls for the job. Yes, you heard me right, I said girls. That is because there are two of them; one named Ashley, and another named Mary-Kate. More commonly known as, the Olsen twins. In addition, I believe that it will be no problem getting these two wonderful actors, and human beings, sworn into the office of president and vice-president. Mind you, they are not legally able to hold office, but a few amendments and impeachments later, America will be able to disarm North Korea with the help of President Ashley Olsen and Vice-President Mary-Kate Olsen. Ashley would become President because she is taller than Mary-Kate is, and because it makes more sense alphabetically. However, Mary-Kate would sometimes pretend to be Ashley, in order to confuse the North Korean government. Another benefit of the Olsen twins running the government is that they are already so accomplished actresses, with 53 productions under each of their belts, according to the internet movie database. Having two actresses running the country would be beneficial in two ways. The first is that they are able to lie well and talk there way through difficult situations. The second benefit is that the dictator of North Korea is an avid movie fan, and with the twin’s connections, they could get him into show business and out of the communism business, which is exactly my plan. It will all begin when Ashley and Mary-Kate are sworn into office. They will send North Korea’s dictator a collection of autographed Olsen twin videos, including such titles, as “How the West was Fun.” What he will not know is that the CIA will put special brainwashing messages in the videos telling him to give his nuclear weapons over to the United States and change North Korea into a democratic nation, similar to the techniques described in the film “Zoolander.” With the help of the Olsen twins, Ronald Regan’s influence, and the help of the CIA, the world will have one less communist nation, and one less threat of nuclear war. Making the world a safer place for everyone, especially the Olsen twins.
