my twelve-year-old resembles me in his eyes, definitely. and my fifteen-month-old has similar expressions.
when i was growing up, i would've preferred to look like neither of my parents. as it was, however, i heard "you look just like your mom" again and again and again. i still look much like her, actually. just a few years ago, someone came up to me in walmart one day and said "you must be nancye's daughter." weird. now, i'm able to smile and say thanks. but i'm still rolling my eyes inside.
