It's illegal to throw CRT screens in traditional dumpsters due to the hazard of their screen cracking to the point where the vacuum inside causes an implosion, ricocheting glass off the back of the tube and effectively firing it out like a cannon.

You'll notice most professional movers carry CRT screens facing away from themselves and wear thick gloves while doing it.
