I think it's more weird when people come up to me and tell me, "Hi, I'm Steven..." or something. Who the hell is Steven? Tell me the name you go by online so I know who the hell I'm talking to.
I also approve of Zomboid's idea about printing your screen names on a shirt. So yeah... go ahead and do that.
