I propose a huge-ass exam on every subject. From arithmetic to physics. It would be run in a military fashion and NO PRACTICE tests should be available. College used to mean something. Now EVERYONE goes to college and it's worthless.

The only reason SATs are used is so that admissions assholes can sort through dozens of applications easier and get their paychecks faster. It started in 1967 when all dumbasses wanted to go to college and the admission officers did not feel like looking at all the applications. They set a minimum score and rejected all the ones below a certain number.

College Board is also a huge corporation that takes your money and makes you believe that it impacts your life so much. SAT books, tutors, flash cards, etc. It's all a dumbass business made to screw you out of your money. You can find TONS of articles that say that SATs don't matter as much.

The very fact that this insignificant garbage gets people ahead is what is wrong with America. Just look at G.W. Bush. That is the epitome of fucked up.

Also, a good percentage of the most successful people did shitty in school. Grades don't mean jack shit. You can be successful even if you drop out of high school. You just need a brain. 2 of the most successful people I know (both millionaires) don't have college degrees.

What does a college degree get you? A shitty cubicle job working at some corporation? Maybe one day you MIGHT make it big and get that corner office with the six figure income. That still pales in comparison to what you can make with your own business. You don't earn jack shit working for someone else. You make the big money when people work for YOU.


You don't have to believe me but I had 120 absences every year and a 95 overall average. This means I came only once a week on average. Sometimes I wouldn't come for 2 or 3 weeks straight. When I came to school it was an event. Teachers would make a standing ovation if I came 2 days in a row. I'm not bullshiting about this. I would show you my transcript if I didn't burn it.

Funny. I could've sworn the major I'm going to pursue in college will get me into a job making roughly 80k a year and possibly millions within a decade if I'm ambitious. Its real easy to talk about how great owning a business is when you've just heard pipe dream type scenarios like Bill Gates and your two "successful people"

Holy shit. I'm in college right now and I run an ebay business earning almost 90k a year after taxes. I work maybe 2 hours a day. All you need to be succesful is a brain and a decent idea. A cubicle job isnt worth it unless you make at least 100k plus benfits.

I don't know where you went to high school but here you can graduate as long as your average is over 65. Absences don't matter as long as you pass the class. All I did was look at books and go to take tests. School was worthless. Again, you don't have to believe me but I am seriously not bullshitting.

Actuarial Scientists make 80k right out of college (With VERY nice benifits) and quickly get into 6 firgure incomes, and within 10-20 years usually hold a position in the company earning millions.

Its also famous for being a fun, fairly liesurely, flexable job. Rated 2nd best in America, and I like math as well. I'll need lots of prep to pass the STANDARDIZED EXAMS that determine your standing as an Actuary, thus I must go to a good college that offers such courses.

And I am convinced you are 13 years old.

well, i have the benefit of age and past experience behind me. i'm 28, and just returning to college after a 7 year hiatus. i worked in an office for 4 years. it drained my creativity and i honestly can't tell you what i did for those 4 years, besides post on i-mockery and play a whole lot of mah-jong tiles.

I have a freind who get's straight A's, and guess what? The ONLY reason is becuase he has a good memory. That's all. He can remember what game we played when I invited him over to my house in the 2nd grade. And yes, he said so himself, he forgets everything he learned once he has taken the tests. Everything you wrote is 100% correct.

Exactly. In the real world grades don't mean jack shit. I NEVER memorize anything. Instead I understand what I am learning so I actually know something.

Every time I had a bullshit class that was 100% pure memorization I made a cheat sheet. It just isn't worth your time memorizing garbage.
