Name Meanings
Give me a name, and I will tell you the origin and the meaning.
For example, my name, Jeanette, is the pet form of the French name "Jeanne". "Jeanne" is the modern French version of "Jehanne", which is the Old French feminine form of "Johannes", which was the Latin form of the Greek name "Ioannes", itself derived from the Hebrew name "Yochanan", meaning, "Yahweh is gracious."
"Roger" is less complicated. It means "famous spear", and it comes from the Germanic elements "hrod" (fame) and "ger" (spear). The Normans introduced this name to Britain.
Who wants me to find the meaning of their name?
