Remember that special edition of Dawn of the Dead? It's out now. i just bought mine.

There's also a new Evil Dead disc out. I may be wrong, but I THINK it's the Book of the Dead version, just without the fancy packaging. The extras looked familiar.

Just a heads up.

Are you talking about the original Dawn or the remake? Theres already like a million different versions of the original Dawn Of The Dead. What makes this version so special?

I have the Trilogy Of The Dead, which has the Extended version, European version and the Document Of The Dead. This special Edition you mentioned has got some nice stuff and all, but I think I can live without it.

I'm still waiting for a really good Evil Dead 2 DVD set to come out. Anybody heard about them releasing a new one sometime?

Do you mean a good dvd set of Evil Dead 2, or do you mean a two disk set of the first two evil dead movies?

Do this!

buy the book of the dead version of evil dead
buy the good special edition of evil dead 2
paste an extra dvd pocket opposite from the other dvd pocket in the book of the dead
store both disks in book of the dead

Because you know if they released a 2-disk set it would just be a rerelease of the same two disks.

Probably. I think they also have the "All the zombies and humans dance around with sparklers" ending.

No, I didn't mean a 2 disc set with both movies, I just meant like a realy really good version of Evil Dead 2. Cuz it seems like every year they come out with a new version, and I'm hoping there will be one definitive version of it that's truly worth buying so I won't have to worry about better versions coming out later on. I already have the Book of the Dead and it rocks in all of it's mushy smelly glee. :o

Why do people keep buying the Evil Dead DVDs? It's obvious that they are just milking the cash cow on the whole thing.

NEW SPECIAL BEHIND-THE-SCENES VERSION! This version is identical to the last version, except we have two minutes of uncut footage of Bruce Campbell eating a sandwich!

Next month, be sure to check out ouar SPECIAL BEHIND-THE-SCENES LIMITED EDITION VERSION where you get the same material that you had already, with a bonus wallet-sized card with a random still shot from the movie! Collect all 244!

Dang, I THOUGHT you meant Evil Dead 2 at first, but wanting a set with both movies made more sense to me.

I'm perfectly happy with the Evil Dead 2 DVD that came out 2 years ago. A 30 minute making-of, where I imagine most of the worthwhile behind-the-scenes footage is put to use, and one of the best commentary tracks ever. whazamata with that?

The other versions of Evil Dead 2 all looked cheap and horrible, even before the Special Edition came out.

The featurette also has a priceless mini-movie that they made called "The Evil Dead Baby," which looks like they just made it durring downtime with a camcorder.

Honestly, I think if they did release another special ediiton, I'd imagine it would just have more new retrospective interviews and stuff, but all the archival footage would pretty much be the same stuff that's on here.

This DVD was also released as a limited edition Tin, which came with a mini (just bigger than postcard) movie poster, and a neat booklet, but the content on the DVD itself is exactly the same. I know this from experiance because I bought the non-tin version and sold the tin on ebay because I hate DVDs that don't fit on my shelf properly.
