Is the best movie Adam Sandler has ever starred in.

Umm, no shit. I love Punch-Drunk Love; it's a completely new cinematic experience, which is something that rarely happens these days. The DVD is out this tuesday, I'll definitely get it, and I suppose you plan on it too. Whats your opinion on other Paul Thomas Anderson films? I think Boogie Nights is one of the best films of the 90s easily, and it's on my top 5 favourites of all time. I love PTA's work.

Agreed on all points. PT Anderson is ridiculously good.

Who else can make a slow-paced melodramatic 3.5 hour movie so amazingly beautiful and watchable? Nobody else in the world could have made Magnolia. And Boogie Nights is nearly perfect.

Hard Eight wasn't quite so great, but hey, it was an early attempt. He's still awesome.

<-------- buying Punch Drunk Love too.

What do you mean by nearly perfect? His cock wasn't big enough for you?

Umm, Robert Altman? Watch Short Cuts. As great as PTA is, he is still really derivative, except for PDL. Boogie Nights and Magnolia rip off Scorsese all the time, but he still tells his own story. I give him lots of credit as an screenwriter.

I will definitely be getting "Punch Drunk Love".

I liked "Boogie Nights" okay, but it's not the kind of thing I think I'll run out and buy. It was good, but I wasn't completely enamored with it and I doubt it's something I'd watch often enough to warrant buying it.

I haven't seen "Magnolia" yet.

Robert Altman could have made Magnolia..... boring.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Short Cuts ok. But PT Anderson's movies have all been more interesting, visually and otherwise, than most Altman.

Is the DVD good enough to get now?

I was planning on picking it up yesterday but Who framed Roger Rabbit got in my way and I just had to have it.

It was great to see Adam Sandler in a serious role and not talking like a little child. Although I did like Billy Madison.

Yes, this should be the only release of it ever. So get it because it won't get better.
