Why do people hate liberals?

I really have trouble understanding the motives behind overly conservative people who say liberals should be impaled through the head by rusty spears (actual quote from a person at my school.)

I can't see the reasoning behind it. "Well, gee, this person wants fair treatment and equal rights for homosexuals, he should die!" What the hell is so wrong with that? Maybe one of you can explain it to me.

Conservatives say things like that because they have massive sticks up their asses, they believe their values are the only right ones, and they fear change.

I say bad things about liberals because liberals include feminists, vegetarians, yuppies, hippies, and PC advocates, and I despise all those groups.

I don't dislike liberals, but I dislike much of their politics. I doubt I'd being running around screaming about how we should jam rusty spears in their bodies.

Also, sometimes what I find liberals call fair treatment really isn't fair. For example, feminists who want equal rights in everything but still want to be excused from the draft. Also, Affirmative Action. But hey, that's just me.

I PERSONALLY think that anyone who is so opinionated that they refuse to think anyone else has a valid point *cough-VINTH-cough* needs to go to group therapy for not being able to deal with people, but hey, thats just my opinion.

And I know that liberals can have just as big a stick up their ass as any conservative(or even a bigger one, with spikes and everything) but I don't often hear of liberals trying to blow up abortion clinics.

And since they're more common it's too easy for their bullshit to get overlooked - we need, if anything, more people to call out radical liberals and give them a clue.

Conservatives blow up abortion clinics, liberals free animals from testing facilities. It's just a matter of magnitude, and I think it's only a matter of time before some liberals start dropping the hippie peacenik attitude and cause some mayhem (feminist militia, anyone?)

Exactly how many conservatives do you think blow shit up? Not many. I don't know where you get the notion that this country has more conservatives from, but you need to check your position. If anything, it's breeding socialists.

Centrist is only the way to be if you consider libertarians centrists.

I for one am not big on the "centrist" argument. I think it's a lot of hogwash. People have partisan opinions in their heart, they have their own personal opinions on how things should and/or could get done. And the ability to sacrifice some of those views and compromise doesn't make you a centrist, or a "moderate," it merely makes you an agreeable person with good sense. :/

Oklahoma City bombing was done by a conservative, and if you get right down to it, Osama Bin Laden and his cronies are all Koran-thumping fundamentalist conservatives. But libearls do some violent things too. Tree spiking is a relatively common practice that comes to mind, along with violence associated with protests.
But there are definitely more wacko christian fundamentalists than there are commie-kids. And commie kids usually outgrow it when they realize that a life of activism won't get them that pimped out car and huge mansion they always wanted.

I might be insanely liberal about SOME things, but I'm not stupid. I know communism doesn't work, and I know anarchy could never work unless there were a good four or five people left on the whole damn planet. I can understand why people would be irritated with those kids. :roll:

I agree that liberals can be abrasive as well. However, I have noticed that there seem to be an awful lot more conservative demogauges (Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Mike Savage) than there are liberal ones.
