Radio without commercials is the best. At my new job we usually have an audio stream from KERA here in Dallas, WFUV in NYC, or KCRW in Santa Monica.

Not that public radio is new to me. I listen to KABF whenever I visit my folks in Little Rock, and my dial was always on KXUA or KUAF when I was in Fayetteville.

So far, I like the music selection best on KCRW, tho I'm told KERA had good music before they went to an all-talk format.

So, do any of you listen to public radio, and if so, what's your favorite station?

All of the stations I've mentioned have internet streams available, so google those call letters if you haven't tuned into public radio before!

i used to listen to KCRW daily when i drove to work and school. i found a lot of great cds from the music they played. but, i stopped listening a year ago or so. it seems like they got to artsy and boring. now i just listen to Live365.com.

Digital radio is starting to really take off over here, and its super cool- cd quality sound, all the national BBC and commercial stations, plus loads more specific to digital. You just have a little dial that scroll through a digital display list of all available stations (I can get about 30 where I live), click the one you want and there it is. With a lot of them you get a text display telling you what record is currently playing. All on this neato little receiver that cost about $130:

But I digress.
