Water relaxes the body, i dont know if you know this, but when you have a child alot of stress and pain is put on the body. Just thought you might like to know that before you go into labor.

Water birthing generally has no pain to little pain; the orgasming isn't everytime, but I'm not sure if it's absolutely true, from what i read it's just an occasional thing... it might depend on how much tantra is involved, you might want to look up on that too. "Spiritual birthing" and such. Oh, also, there's alot of hospitols now a days that have tubs for water birthing. There's probably a few in the cleveland area.
I'd seriously reccomend on reading up on it, I know a few people who have done it and had children the normal way, and they say the pain is way less. None of them mentioned orgasming, though. the benefits to a child coming into the world with as little pain involved as possible should seem appearant.

here's the thing, kahl... i'm gonna research all my options and do what i think is best. i'm not ignorant, i was just saying that i highly doubt giving birth to a baby in water is going to make me have an orgasm. i do know that water birth is supposed to ease the pain of labor, BUT a lot of doctors don't reccommend actually giving birth in water, because of different complications that can happen, especially with your first baby.

so i think that i'll talk to my midwife first, and then together we can decide what is the best option for me, thank you very much.

To be honest, pretty much anything is 'appropriate' here, but if you go into a thread about a special moment in a very well-liked member's life and begin to wee all over it, you're going to get plenty of people that will be very nasty with you over the internet. Glowbelly, I say exploit you pregnancy to the max! my friend is 6 months preggers at the moment and she is making her husband practise getting up in the night by making her tasty food whenever she demands it. I would also advise developing cravings. Not just for weird food, but for things like surprise picnics and gifts of pampering products. You've got to remember you are glowing for two now!

oh and on the waterbirth front my sister in law had both her kids in a pool and loved it, but she is the most rock hard person I know and had no complications during pregmancy. I think for a fist baby I would rather go the hospital route, just in case you know. Pus from the photos I saw of my sister in law giving birth not just the baby comes out in the water. All that pushing menas bowel clearance, if you are not squeamish thats fine but I wouldnt want to be sitting in my own poo!!

I was myself was born at home admid a big ole party that my dad threw. Its nice that loads of people were present at my birth, I get phone calls on my birthday from guys who still look out for me even though they live in other countries and do not know me as an adult.

oh and Isobel is a great name, not just a beautiful Bjork song, but also the name of my grandmama who is just a little nuts!
