I've noticed some foodstuffs are very indeed localized. I have a certain affection for Hidden Valley Ranch and I resort to importing it from "little winnipeg" otherwise known as grand forks. Those crazy americans also carry packets of powdered ranch dip mix.
Apparantly, they don't exist in my country, or in this part of it, because I've gone into 3 different large grocery chains and when I ask for it, they look at me like I just asked where they kept the square watermelons. Jesus almighty, is powdered ranch dip just too fucking much to ask for? All I could end up finding is the premade stuff, which is sort of the same, but nowhere near as economical.
I've also noticed that only certain parts of north america now carry the "baggies" of milk that you snip open the corner of and put in a jug. Crazy? Indeed. The more south you go the more likey you are to be shot for asking for clamato juice. What in the great holy hell else would you use to make a ceasar with? tomato juice? that a bloody MARY, you pickup truck driving, tobacco spitting, black people hating mother fucker! AAAAAAAUGH! And around here its RYE whiskey, not BOURBON you MOTHERFUCKERS!
Canada and America should be the two countries that carry the exact same shit ALL the time, EVERYWHERE, for the EXACT same price.
