I'm amazed there isn't a thread about this yet. So what do you guys think? I love it, I think it's easily their best work since Paul's Boutique.

The song they were playing on the radio made me want to smash it into a thousand pieces, but I'm sure the rest of the album is much better than that track. It's just sooooooooo repetitive with that one sound over and over and over...

If you're talking about "Ch-Check it Out", that's one of my favorites, actually. I had downloaded a version online that just looped the same 15 seconds or so of the song, THAT was annoying. Are you sure that's what you're talking about? The actual song on the album isn't really repetitive at all.

he's probably heard it on the radio, and he's right on it being repeptitive, but i only noticed it about midway through and it wasnt abrasive enough to bug me, so i let it slide.

gonna go listen to it today probably...

I can't wait to get this album. The Beastie Boys have yet to make an album that dissapointed me. Hello Nasty is one of the greatest CDs ever made

I actually think I like it better than Hello Nasty. I kind of get bored by their instrumentals sometimes because I like to actually hear them rapping and stuff.

It's just too bad they decided to release an album which quietly loads a virus on your computer.

I like it, except the hook is a little annoying in that it doesn't fit the groove of the rest of the song.

I had dreams about this album, before I got my germans on it.

I think it's fucking brilliant. Ch-Check it out is probably my favoite as well, and the video is awesome. I like their instrumentals, but their rapping stuff is much better.

I REALLY hope they come to Australia on their tour, otherwise I'm going to have to go to Japan. Has anybody, or will anybody be seeing them live?

3. The copy protection system used for all EMI/Capitol releases including "To the 5 Boroughs" is Macrovision's CDS-200, which sets up an audio player into the users RAM (not hard drive) to playback the Yellow book audio on the disk. It does absolutely NOT install any kind of spyware, shareware, silverware, or ladies wear onto the users system.

There's more to that than what they're saying. The fact that they have their own "special" version of a player is just a sign of things that are probably around the corner.

I'm still baffled at why the companies are trying stuff like this. If sound comes out of the speakers, I can record it, digitally or otherwise. Instant copy-protection circumvention.

Still, it's only time until they get sued for this. Their special software meets all the legal definitions for a computer virus, especially if a website full of programmers and geeks who have probably dissected the whole thing say it is.
