I'm going to buy some tonight! It's the nerve food Tonic! LEARN TO DRINK IT!

I have a very nice collection of historic Moxie Bottles from ll periods. I even have a The Moxie Nerve Food Tonic bottle, with the beverge still in it! When I am ready to die, I will drink it! 100 year old soda is so smooth going down!

Actually, it's most probably just brown food coloring water a junk shop dealer put in it to jack up the price.

What kind of soda is it? Just plain cola?

I've never seen it in stores

1876: Moxie introduced into apothecary shops by Dr. Augustin Thompson of Union, ME as a nerve tonic. It guaranteed to cure almost any ill including loss of manhood, paralysis, and softening of the brain (you want your brain nice and stiff). Moxie was only later carbonated and marketed as a beverage, in 1884.

Where to find it

It's an AQUIRED TASTE WERD.

Principal Flavoring GENTIAN ROOT! Once upon a time it outsold Coca cola, but now it can only be found in it's birthplace, New England.
