What exactly is it? I've heard someone call the band Windir viking metal, and it just sounds like power metal with black metal vocals. Which was of course, pretty gay

Apparently, Finntroll is Viking metal. Despite being Finnish, their vocals are in Swedish.

I thought their vocals were gibberish. Or do they have some mellower tunes than the rip-your-throat-out stuff I've heard?

Of course, their instrumental parts are good enough for me to overlook the quality of the singing.
