Old Dec 6th, 2003, 01:53 AM        School bus crash video.
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/buscrash.html
Watch this video of a school bus rolling over on its side. I have never seen anything more surreal in my entire life. I guess it has to do with perspective.

(The students recieved only bumps and bruises)

Edit: Go here for stills: http://www.nbc10.com/news/2568858/detail.html

At least no one was killed.

The video itself is feaky to watch because it looks like gravity defies itself and all the kids instantly get smacked to the side while the bus is upright. Of course, the camera is bolted to stand, so you get that effect.

What was the one where we see this one bus driver going so fast a kid in launced the the roof?

The video footage of that kid in back of the bus being launched to the roof gave me a headache from all the laughing. I always imagine some crazy-eyed bus driver laughing hysterically before hitting a bump

The stills are the best, because you can see them just as they were about to be tossed, clinging to the seats, with this "What the fuck..." expression.

And their legs sticking out looks downright comical.

School buses are actually the safest vehicles in the world as far as rollover protection. This is due to the solid arch construction. Basicaly its a series of lateral steel hoops tethered together by the sheet metal exterior. This design has been in use since the early 40's and has the safest track record out of all bus designs.

Wouldnt it be lame if they made them go to rest of their classes that day?

They're not great for deflecting oncoming trains, though.

i bet the news crew were laughing that day, but they had to put up a stern face for the camera.
