In this turbulent world of divisive politics and heated debates on controversial issues, it's heartening to know that the people of the world are united behind the belief that George W. Bush is a dumb fuck.

"Some in this chamber, and in our country, did not support the liberation of Iraq. Objections to war often come from principled motives. But let us be candid about the consequences of leaving Saddam Hussein in power. We are seeking all the facts - already the Kay Report identified dozens of weapons of mass destruction-related programme activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations. Had we failed to act, the dictator's weapons of mass destruction programmes would continue to this day. "

- George W. Bush
Teddy Kenedy and I both laughed at this one. I never thought that I'd share a laugh with him.

" weapons of mass destruction-related programme activities"

Anybody want to take a shot at what that might mean? Or maybe a shot related program activity at it?

"weapons of mass destruction-related programme activities"

-thats exactly the way blair started referring to them once they realised they were going to find fuck all hard evidence. It was
actually embarrassing watching him repeatedly use that phrase when he was being grilled in the house of commons.

It's shameless is what it is! Aren't these the same folk who complained about Clinton parsing the deffinition of sexual relations vs. 'improper' relations? I'll take lieing about sex over lieing about War any day!

Suppose Clinton had said "I had sexual relation related program activities with that woman."

listening to the speech on the radio i laughed outloud when i heard this section..

bush:
"Key provisions of the Patriot Act are set to expire next year. " (uproarious applause)

"The terrorist threat will not expire on that schedule.
Our law enforcement needs this vital legislation to protect our citizens - you need to renew the Patriot Act. "
(uproarious applause)

it really sound to me like the second applause was for terrorist attacks on the U.S. and removal of people rights.

did anyone see cheney's funny head nodding when bush was talking about the economy.. i think it was tax cuts..(man i wish i recorded it) the way he was moving his head really reminded me of golem and the ring.. i almost saw drool dripping out of his mouth as he grinned evily.

another thing.. after i started watching the tv version of the speech and flipped channels (i dont get abc, nbc, cbs or fox) i noticed a huge difference between msnbc and cspan. msnbc had tight shots on bush and showed the approving repubs clapping but didnt show the dems sitting silent half the time.. cspan showed both sides and larger shots.. i had a very different feeling watching one version over another.. amazing what a difference camera angles can make.

I didn't listen to the address. I knew the fine people of I-mockery would inform me. Apparently I would have laughed too much if I actually did watch it.
