a good way to cut back on the ridiculous sodium content is to not use the entire flavor packet. or you can discard a lot of the "broth" and add your own things like hot mustard, fresh ground black pepper, green peas, or even make "egg drop" ramen if you're more interested in protein than cholesterol counts.
