POKEMON teams
alright, so i don't even know how many other people on here still play pokemon, but i'm having trouble deciding on some things for my team (no in-game team, competitive online battling). i'm gonna post my old team and my new team and i want you guys to critique please! and other people post your teams.
OLD TEAM:
WEAVILE @ focus sash
lonely
252 atk, 252 spe
- ice shard
- night slash
- aerial ace
- attract
my lead. attract can really surprise some people, but obviously only works on the opposite gender. ice shard for trick room based teams. night slash and aerial ace accordingly.
ELECTIVIRE @ expert belt
adamant
252 atk, 252 spe
- thunderpunch
- earthquake
- cross chop
- ice punch
physical type coverage.
GENGAR @ choice specs
rash
252 sp. atk, 252 spe
- psychic
- sludge bomb
- thunderbolt
- energy ball
special type coverage.
TOGEKISS @ king's rock
calm
252 sp.def, 252 sp.atk
- flamethrower
- thunder wave
- aura sphere
- air slash
special defensive tank. standard use of paraflinching.
now just let me say something about my electivire (E), my gengar (G), and my togekiss (T). the three of them work perfectly together with good prediction. if E is out his biggest threat is a ground move (earthquake), in which case i can switch in T or G and not be damaged at all. if T is out her biggest threat is an electric attack (thunder), in which case i can switch in E and activite his ability (motor drive: boosts his speed upon getting hit with an electric attack) and also take no damage. and if G is out his biggest threat is a ghost move, in which case i switch in T and take no damage. it's pretty fucking sweet.
DUSKNOIR @ sitrus berry
bold
252 hp, 126 sp.def, 126 def
- snatch
- thunderpunch
- will-o-wisp
- torment
mixed wall. snatch can really piss people off but takes good prediction. thunderpunch accordingly. will-o-wisp to fuck attackers. torment to... well, torment.
MEDICHAM @ salac berry
naive
252 spe, 252 atk
- sunny day
- reversal
- ice punch
- substitute
typical sub-reversal attacker. sunny day to counter any weather effects that would otherwise ruin my sub-reversal. ice punch accordingly.
----------------------
NEW TEAM:
PROBOPASS @ sitrus berry
brave
174 atk, 84 sp.def, 252 hp
- stealth rock
- explosion
- thunderbolt
- earthquake
my lead. mainly just for stealth rock and then explosion outta there. but i have earthquake and thunder wave if he can get them out / are necessary.
CLEFABLE @ life orb
modest
252 sp.atk, 68 hp, 188 spe
- thunderbolt
- ice beam
- flamethrower
- grass knot
special attack type coverage.
MAROWAK @ thick club
jolly
252 atk, 252 spe
- earthquake
- rock slide
- double edge
- fire punch
physical attack type coverage.
UMBREON @ leftovers
impish
252 hp, 252 def
- wish
- toxic
- baton pass
- mean look
toxic if necessary, but mainly for helping my other pokemon. mean look then baton pass to marowak, clefable, or muk, depending on enemy pokemon. also wish and then baton pass for healing.
TYPHLOSION @ focus sash
modest
252 spe, 252 sp.atk
- sunny day / substitute
- flamethrower
- solarbeam
- focus blast
sunny day first, survive wish focus sash and activite blaze, flamethrower / solarbeam accordingly. substitute could be switched with sunny day to otherwise ensure solarbeam and help focus blasts inaccuracy. if i were to switch substitute with sunny day i'd have to change the item though.
MUK @ ?????
adamant
252 atk, 252 sp.def
- gunk shot / poison jab
- shadow sneak
- curse
- brick break
curse until necessary, shadow sneak to deal with outspeeding, brick break and gunk shot / poison jab as necessary.
----------------------
or should i combine some from one team to the other?
