Old Dec 27th, 2003, 12:47 PM        GBA Flash Rom / CameCube question
Do any of you know if the GBA Flash Rom cartridges (that you can copy any number of games onto) will work in the Gameboy player for the GameCube?

I don't see why not. Are there any 'modding' items needed for GBA or Gamecube?

I think you can, because nintendo actually produces its own flash ROM cartridge, though albeit a much inferior product to the third-party ones. :o

Also, the Flash ROM cartridges are supposedly the future of the GBA because of their flexibility, with seperate OS shells and internal clocks and read/writeability and all that, i cant see any problem, but Im not entirely sure either. :<

the only problem i see, is that you'd need a gba to load any games on it since it hooks up to your computer via a link cable/usb cord into the gba not the actual card. other than that, it should work.

you could go here http://www.mwelectronics.com/ (found with google) or try ebay if you want to try to get better deal.

and yeah, as long as your computer has usb support you can.

i got mine here, its like the only place in the us that sells em anymore, I had major problems when trying to order with a hong kong company.

http://jandaman.cybrhost.com/Merchan...egory_Code=GBA

I got this one:

http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/me...=gbaezflash512

you dont need a gba to link this one up. The only things that arent great about this one is that it sometimes loses saves if i dont periodicaly charge the battery by hooking it up to the usb. and it doesnt have a realtime clock on it. that didnt matter much to me since pokemon is like the only game to use it.

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but I realised that no one had really addressed Mr Mockery's question with a confirmed answer. :o

Quote:
"Connecting it to the GBA works, but what about connecting it to the Game Cube, would it work?
The flash card will work with the Game Cube and Gameboy Player for GC just like any normal cart would. There is no difference. All the functions of a regular cartridge are emulated including linking multiplayer games and using the carts to play games on Game Cube.
"
Taken from http://www.gameboy-advance.net/flash...ltime_cart.htm ;>

Just as a matter of referrence, that is an earlier version of the flash card i have [EZ FlashUSB 256mb] and i am totally most happy with it. :D

http://www.success-hk.com was the service vendor mine was purchased from i believe, and i can highly recommend both the cartridge and the vendor. :>
