As I mentioned in the car wreck thread, about the only thing that hasn't sucked this week was when I ended up getting a girl's phone number with very little effort on my part. This evening I finally got around to calling her, and she actually remembered me and didn't hang up! She asked me to let her know when again I'd be in town, and I said that I'd make a special occasion of it for her. This weekend, perhaps! But no, she didn't want to do anything this weekend because of school starting. She suggested that I call again next week and perhaps we'll do something then.
I tried to analyze her tone and everything for sincerity, but it was heavily masked by a thick Hoosier accent. She sounded like she was genuinely interested in meeting up sometime, but on the other hand she seemed eager to end the conversation.
Here's the kicker: after my last fling, I told myself that I had better stop fooling around with girls more than a year older than me. I'm 19, she's 23. She has the most wonderful hairs in the world, too.
I just don't know how wise it is to start in on romantic adventures only a month before I go back to school. It's quite possible that I might find myself involved with a Chicago girl, but I just don't know these days. I'll probably end up in a seminary by the close of the decade.
Scrutinize me, please!
