YES! Finally some poll recognizes strength of schedule. Though UT had a killer too.

EDIT: If head-to-head counted, then TTech would have a beef - controversy, controversy.

If it did, then Texas Tech would be ahead of Texas, Oklahoma would be ahead of Texas Tech, and Texas would be ahead of Oklahoma

.... wait, what?

All kidding aside though we certainly don't need any sort of 8 man playoff system /rolls eyes at the BCS.... again

It's a Big XII problem more than it is a BCS problem in this case, because their tie-breaker sucks a fat one. The circular argument of Texas beat Oklahoma who beat Texas Tech who beat Texas is irrelevant in terms of the BCS rankings. UT and OU are 3 and 2 respectively. Tech isn't even in this discussion. A plus one model would work for circumstances like this, but even then the system is flawed. The BCS should be boycotted by schools and fans alike.

What if OU gets smoked by Mizzou and the Gators lay the SMACKDOWN on the Tide. Why wouldn't that be a fine mess!

Just off the top of my head, wouldn't it then be Florida vs. Texas for the national championship?

If Texas goes to the BCS Championship game without winning their conference championship then it's still an indictment of the BCS system.

Really? The BCS is flawed?

If there is to be any sort of playoff, the games should be played in the north and south. I want to see Florida or Miami come up to Minneapolis, Columbus, or Ann Arbor in December for a bowl game and see how they like the cold. Imagine the northern teams having to play basically 3 or 4 playoff games in basically what would be road games in the south.

Regardless of what system is in place, people will always bitch and moan. It's the nature of college football and frankly i've accepted it.

Tommy Tuberville was fired at Auburn today. Tell me please, how a guy with these stats can get canned:

82% winning percentage
40+ wins in last 4 years
5 wins in last 6 bowls
13-0 in 2003

Also beating bitter rival Alabama 5 times in a row (maybe 6, don't remember).

His winning percentage is less that of both Ty Willingham and Bob Davies.

Of course, we all remember the fiasco that the last 2 coaching searches have been for ND.

This was once the proudest football program in the country.

I hate Weis and Notre Dame with a passion, but I think ol' fatboy should get one more year to prove that he's not a complete failure as a coach. He's pulled in top talent and that alone, to me at least, warrants one more year at the most. I want him to fail but he brought in a top 5 class last year and is looking like he'll bring in at least a top 10 this year. At least 8 wins next year or his fat ass is gone.

Hope you saved room for dessert because this is the last What To Watch For of the collegiate season:

12 Ball State vs. Buffalo - Do not be surprised if Turner Gill's Bulls pull the upset.

Army vs. Navy - This is always a fun game to watch, no matter what the teams' records.

5 USC vs. UCLA - Only relevant because of what happened last time in Pasadena...

19 Missouri vs. 4 Oklahoma - Can the Tigers play BCS Championship Game spoilers?

1 Alabama vs. 2 Florida - Talk about everything being on the line in this one. I have to go with Florida on this one. They have been absolutely dominating this year (aside from the Ole Miss loss, but in retrospect, a 1 point loss to an 8-4 Rebel team isn't really that bad, is it?) and although i'm impressed with Alabama, they don't seem to have that killer instinct as they haven't really put the beat down on teams and they also have a tendency to let inferior teams hang around for too long, ie Tulane, Miss State, Tennessee.

The last regular season AP poll delivered right to your front door:

1. Florida (50) 12-1 1,602
2. Oklahoma (9) 12-1 1,540
3. Texas (6) 11-1 1,530
4. Alabama 12-1 1,410
5. USC 11-1 1,372
6. Penn State 11-1 1,259
7. Utah 12-0 1,225
8. Texas Tech 11-1 1,193
9. Boise State 12-0 1,101
10. Ohio State 10-2 1,069
11. TCU 10-2 921
12. Cincinnati 11-2 863
13. Oklahoma State 9-3 853
14. Georgia Tech 9-3 761
15. Oregon 9-3 710
16. Georgia 9-3 599
17. Brigham Young 10-2 477
18. Pittsburgh 9-3 428
19. Michigan State 9-3 423
20. Mississippi 8-4 389
21. Virginia Tech 9-4 318
22. Northwestern 9-3 262
23. Ball State 12-1 249
24. Oregon State 8-4 163
25. Missouri 9-4 150

On the cusp: Iowa 104, Boston College 95, Florida State 13, East Carolina 12

Florida lived up to expectations and beat Alabama while Oklahoma made quick work of Mizzou to set up the BCS Championship game. Ball State falls all the way down to 23 after losing to Buffalo in the MAC title game.

With the regular season now complete, I'll post a list of the bowl games once they become available.

I guess the two best teams will be playing for the National Championship. I still think UT got hosed, but that's more the Big XII's fault than anything.

Lots to look forward to, even though Missouri ran into the juggernaut, BITCH.

Pac - you're right, UT got hosed bigtime by their own conference.
