Fucking scariest movie EVER. EVER.

I've only been able to watch a half hour of it. I've had to keep lowering the sound and pausing it.

I need a hug.

Ju-on was ruined for me.

I think Kevin actually had a thread about this a while back.

Yeah, I did start one, and I agree with James. I've seen all four installments (if you include the two prequel, direct to video ones), as well as the Japanese sequel to the grudge.

I have high hopes for the remake coming out, it essentially looks like a shot-for-shot remake, with a few clips from the prequels in it.....we'll see.

The japanese version is getting a limited release this month, and I'd suggest that everyone see that version in a theatre.

I actually just got a hold of The Curse 2. You can see a lot of the same elements reused in The Grudge, but that just makes everything more confusing. It's not as scary either, but still fucked up and weird.

I imagine if I see The Curse and The Grudge 2, my head will explode trying to wrap my head around all the movies.

The remake, I don't know. The US really isn't capable of recreating the film properly. The Ring was great, but even without seeing Ringu, I know it just doesn't hold up in the same aspect.

Yeah, I hear you on the propensity for Americans to fuck up good humor. But the reason my hopes are up is it's the same director (I think his name is Shimizu?), it's actually shot in Tokyo, same house, same set, same vision, etc. Just add gellar and bill pullman, who will I enjoy watching die painfully (sorry for the spoiler).

Shimizu (if that's him) actually did the third installment in a series of movies made after a japanese comic called Tomie. I think he made "Tomie: the rebirth." I've seen the first one, and it was lame, but I could see him taking the concept and making it work.....

What the hell is up with that Sarah Michelle Gellar movie with the same name? Did they really do a remake with white people?

That movie just proved to me that Japanese people are an androgynistic group of elves.
