Quote:
Sakkara was but one of many slaves to a Queen obsessed with immortality during the height of the Imperial Egyptian Empire. Relegated to the lot of having to aid in the erection of monumental statues and structures in honor of the Queen, Sakkara had an inner strength that a mysterious old man at the slave camp recognized.
He told her that he knew how she could become immortal, to let her inner fire rage forever. Sakkara never got the chance to immediately follow up on the old man's advice, as she was almost run over by an imperial chariot. The Queen herself was aboard the chariot, and was smitten by Sakkara's beauty. From that point on, the slave became the Queen's personal servant and wife.
But the happiness in Sakkara's life was not to remain. The Queen's lust for immortality and power were greater than her love for the lowly slave, and a political marriage was arranged with a powerful man. He demanded that all of the Queen's other wives be put to death, and betrayed, Sakkara fled into the night seeking vengeance.
The slave soon encountered the old man who had promised immortality. Himself dying from an attack by guards, his last words were to tell Sakkara to seek out a mysterious cave where an ancient Celtic vampire by the name of Rath dwelt. Seeing the willful determination in her eyes, Rath shared of her blood, and gave his own in return.
But he had not foreseen what would happen. Sakkara had the blood of fallen angels within her, and the essence of the vampire's blood mixed with her's to create a unique being, part vampire, part demon! Sakkara, now Purgatori, went on a vicious rampage, killing guards and turning the guests at the royal wedding into vampires.
Even the new King and Queen suffered this wrath, turned into vampires and sealed within a sarcophagus until their hunger for blood destroyed their souls. That night, Alexandria burned.
But Purgatori's lust for power had only begun. She set out to summon Lucifer himself, and transported to hell, dared to drink of the dark prince's blood. The blood of the fallen angels made the vampire goddess stronger, but Lucifer, part angered and part amused, flung his consort into banishment.
When Lucifer was apparently defeated and banished, Purgatori returned to feast on the blood of another being tainted with the blood of fallen angels: Lady Death. Purgatori raged a battle of wits against the Queen of the Dead and Dying, using illusions and a brainwashed Cremator to undermine and weaken the Lady's confidence.
When Purgatori finally confronted Lady Death, she was weak enough for the vampire goddess to defeat. But as Purgatori drank of her essence, she realized that Lucifer was not within the Queen of Hell. Shocked by this revelation, Purgatori was easily defeated, only for the two enemies to be overshadowed by the even more threatening presence of the Prince of Lies.
Lady Demon, the demonic slave of Lucifer, fought Purgatori in battle, handily defeating the vampire goddess and throwing her through the Nexus of All Things. There, Purgatori was banished to Earth, weakened from a lack of the blood of the gods.
Swearing vengeance on Lady Death, Purgatori found herself under assault by her old enemies, Jade and Kabala. Forced to relive her memories, Purgatori encountered and escaped her old maker Rath. After defeating Jade, Purgatori destroyed Kabala, leaving her heartless body to the justice of the rising Sun.
Purgatori began to wreak havoc on Vampires across the world, only to learn of Dracula. Demanding his status, the Vampire Goddess tracked the elusive Count to his abode. The battle of wills between them ended in an alliance of sorts, as Purgatori became one of the Count's brides...
