last night my entire cd collection was stolen out of a friends car, probably around 50 or 60 albums, he has only liability insurance and absolutely no idea who could have taken them. Do i just cut my losses and cry, or try and find the worthless minority (because they commit ALL crimes) who took them?

It sucks but it's fun to just move on and build a new collection and next time don't leave it in your friends car. I lost my Yashica 35 ml camera that way

Same thing happened to my brother a couple of years back, but they also stole the face plate off of his CD player (i have no idea why). He hasnt replaced the CD player or the CD's because it would be to much of a hassle to try and find who took the CD's.

My brother was going to sell about 200 DVDs because he needed money for a new car and he left them all in his car at night. Then someone took them all out of his trunk.

The police will probably give an honest effort in trying to retrieve your CDs but, honestly, I don't think that there's much they can do for you. Realistically, they're untraceable unless you happen across the whole collection at once. Even then, it's your word against theirs. :needleinahaystack

I had two of those big 64 cd disc folders in my truck, my cell phone, and some other crap. The entire truck was stripped clean, right in my driveway. They broke the window, and stole everything from the cds to the maps to my jacket. The worst thing about it was that they were little thugs who probably listened to shitty rap, and my cds probably wound up in the garbage.

Count your losses. It sucks, but the police generally don't prioritize stuff less than the actual car itself. They take the report and send it to the local pawn shops so anything that you catalogged the serial number to would be traced. Everything else is fair game.

If you are looking for worthless minorities you should start with your mom.

Where do you guys live? I've never had any cars broken into around here. If they were, it was because they were left in the middle of nowhere (this is a city, but there's a lot of agricultural land).

Another reason to download music.

Earlier this year, a guy who went to take a shower had his computer stolen. Then reacently, an Xbox, games, DVD's, and his text books were stolen. The text books, I am sure, were sold back to the bookstore for quick cash.

He is offering a $60 reward though.

good luck trying to get your cd's back.
