So anyway, I got my kinda fixed, but for some reason, the slave HD isn't showing up in Windows. It shows up just fine in the BIOS, but not in Windows itself. I had another HD that I tried, and it loaded just fine, so what's the deal here?

Is BIOS showing the right size for the slave HD? Did you make sure that the jumper is set to slave?

The BIOS shows the HD as being 81gb instead of 80gb, and the jumper I left as it was back when it was still working as a slave drive.

Try right-clicking My Computer and select Manage->disk management and see if it shows up there. If it does, then no problemo.

I had the exact same problem a few years back. Cant remember how I fixed it though. Mabey I just formetted my Windows drive and after I reinstalled it worked again. :s

Although its entirely possible I did something a bit smarter.

Last time that happened to me, the hard drive that stopped showing up crashed two weeks later.

Melvin was spot on.

It did appear there, albeit as "dynamic". I messed around a little and got it to actually load the drive, but it says that it's online, but with "errors". I can't seem to find any, though.

If you value the data on it, you will back it all up now.
