Old Mar 25th, 2004, 09:14 AM        Condi Rice, Undersecretary of Irony
"He needs to get his story straight," said Condoleezza Rice, Bush's national security adviser and Clarke's former boss.
-AP wire.

Huh. Cause Clarke is testifying under oath and Rice is refusing to testify at all.

Now, I'm not ruling out the possability of perjury. I'm just saying if he's lieing at least he has the guts tto put his lies where they could get him in trouble.

She is a graceful, powerful woman. Someone all little girls should look up to.

So Max, was Clarke lying about Bush back in 2002 or yesterday?

Well, what I thin hardly matters since he answered that question under oath.

"There's a very fine line that anyone who's been in the White House, in any administration, can tell you about," Clarke replied. Someone in his position had three choices. He could have resigned, but he had important work yet to do. He could have lied, but nobody told him to do that, and he wouldn't have in any case. "The third choice," he said, "is to put the best face you can for the administration on the facts. That's what I did."

Well, Thompson asked in a bruised tone, is there one set of moral rules for special assistants to the White House and another set for everybody else?

"It's not a question of morality at all," Clarke replied. "It's a question of politics."

So you are saying that he did, infact, lie during sworn testamony and in his "book" that he told Bush about this magical plan that was handed over from the Clinton administration to handle Al-Queda?

I saw that guy on the telly today, I thought he was lying when he said something like 'we have failed you, we tried our best, and we failed.'

Unless he meant that they were trying hard to fail people, in which case I agree.

Huh. See now, Vinth, I thought I was saying He put the best face he could on the facts for the administration.

You know, like W. did about the forged Yellowcake documenst during the state of the Union, or Chenney did about Iraq having nuclear weapons or the EPA did about the air in NYC after 9/11. Now, if you want to call tat sort of thing lieing, well, I think that's pretty strong language, but we can agree to disagree.

Unless you're talking about some other thing that you can't male clear or identify in any way because of your learning disabilities.

You could be more speciffic. I mean, it's pretty much in all the papers right now. You know, real ones, not commentators like Boortz who've pre chewed your food for you. You say you read them all the time, so why not try really, really hard and make clear whtever the hell you're trying to say. Oh, I forgot, this is about as hard as you've tried at anything since time and memorial. I guess you can't help the ideas you perscribe to.
