Old Jan 21st, 2004, 01:38 PM        Old Hercules movies!
We have to watch these in speech all the time. They're based off the series that used to come on USA. I think they still come on Sci Fi.

The special effects are kinda crappy and the messed up some of the gods/godesses but overall the movies are actually pretty entertaining. Anybody else watch these? :o

You mean the Raimi/Tapert series with Kevin Sorbo?

Not sure if that's who made it, but Kevin Sorbo plays Hercules.

Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert produced the series. It's kinda fun once you get the humor, but I never bothered to watch much of it. I stuck to Xena instead. It had Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell and, I admit it, lots of cleavage.

I saw one a really long time ago. Like when I was 11 or even 10. It had a giant purple clay cyclops that looked totally fake. Infact, the people looked like match sticks and you could tell the landscape was that green stuff you put in easter baskets to make it look grassy.

That's all I remember

Besides the cleavage, I didn't much care for Xena. But the Hurcules did have a lot of humor in it. Our teacher gets more of it then we do, though. Because she's old.

The one we're watching now has the worst scenery i've ever seen. It's all made from styrephome(sp?).

Didn't Bruce Campell appear in more Hercules episodes than Xena episodes?

I always liked Hercules better. I just never liked any of the characters in Xena, and that flying ring was just dumb (throw it at a guy's face, it knocks him down, but throw it at a tree and it'll slice right through ).

Yeah Bruce Campbell played The King of Thieves. I forgot what his name was, but it was always funny. He was in both series because both the series would cross-over all the time.

They had to eventually cancel Hercules because Kevin Sorbo fucked up his arm swinging around those swords. The Xena series when on way to far, and sometimes Hercules would show up in it, but that was rare since he was flying around in the Andromda.

Also does anyone remember the other show made by Raimi/ Tapert called Jack of all Trades. and it started Campbell as a hero during the revolutionary times. I had like Ben Franklin in it as a guest.

I saw a couple of episodes. Was pretty fun, but by no means good.

I love how you can hear NY traffic in the background while you're supposed to be on Mount Olympus. Anybody else seen the version with Arnie's original voice? Fantastic.

I saw it at wal-mart once and didn't buy it. I've always wanted to do a feature on that flick too. :/
