Old Aug 10th, 2004, 12:31 PM        NEW PICKLEMAN MEGA-ISSUE! 30+ PAGES!
As part of the "grand-reopening" of I-Mockery on our new server, PoX and I are happy to unveil the first PickleMan comic since last Xmas. We spent a looong time getting this one done, and not to toot my own horn, but I think it's the best one we've done yet. I'm really happy with the results and hope you guys dig it too. As usual, there's some secrets stuffed into the comic as well.

Note: Since we're on the new server, some of you may not be able to see it for a little while still (DNS records are still being updated in some areas).

PICKLEMAN MEGA-ISSUE #5!!! -by -RoG- & -PoX-:
http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/pickleman5

Enjoy and be sure to let us know whatcha think of it...

Thanks for the compliments so far guys.

Any more in-depth feedback would really be appreciated. PoX and I spent a looooooooong time working on this comic book and one of the best things about unveiling it is getting to hear back from the people who took the time to read it.

Terrific, it says it doesn't exist. And I don't suspect it will work untill the new site starts working for me.

32 pages/cover/secrets x 4 hours each = 128 hours
time to read it = less than half an hour

some part of this feels highly unsatisfying O.o

I suggest you all read it approximately 1024 times each.
: )

Yeah, but if 128 people read it, it will be like you only worked for an hour, right? There's some logic in that.

I love bread, I think it's my favorite food in the world. No ghost of Atkins can stop me The ominous bread isle scene made me LOL.

On this page, is that priest walking in the street Preacher? I've never actually read an issue of that comic, but I know what he looks like, and this guy looks very familiar.

All in all, great issue.

or you know... you could just read it 1024 times and make me happy :/ You can cheat a little and read it only 1023 times, I won't know : )

Art-wise, what do you guys think of the way I colored the monster ( on page... er.. well that page where the 2 aliens fuse) ? I used a different technique to do it, was wondering what everyone thought of it.

OH and yes, that is a poorly drawn Jesse Custer walking the streets :p

ROG AND POX...that is the best issue of Pickleman I have ever read. I too hate the Atkins diet with a passion, and it was so great to read a comic that hated it aswell. Keep up the great work guys.

Thanks Sam! I really appreciate that coming from you. And big thanks to everyone else who's read it so far and complimented on it. We've been getting some really positive feedback with this issue... very encouraging to say the least.

Yeah, the whole Atkins thing is just way out of hand and it's something I had been wanting to write about for a while. At the very least, I was hoping people would be able to relate to it. :o

Much like FatSatan, bread is easily one of my favorite foods. And a burger just isn't a burger without the buns! As far as meat-eating goes... it doesn't get much beefier than roasting the flesh of dead aliens over an open fire and then sharing the tasty alien meat meal with a bunch o' kids. Good times, good times...

I definitely think these get better each time.
And Pox, you are really good at creating mood - especially the whole abandoned bread aisle part, and when we first see the nazi looking guys. I'm sure you must be learning a shitload doing these.

As for those alien guys fused - I like the idea of the coloring technique - the facets of dark to light, but it needs a more clearly defined light source so the positioning of the creature and it's limbs is more readable and less chaotic. If you know what I mean? - The highlights are too random. And His "crotch" is farthest away, his hand on the right side of the screen is closest. Your values need to reflect that. Punch that hand out!

And rog you already know what I think of you.
smell.

I sent you a file to show what I meant above.

But also (not in the file I sent you) - in order to punch that one hand forward more - not to necessarily make it lighter - just needs more detail. The furthest back portions of him should have the least details - simplest facets, while the more forward would have the most complex details - most facets

ok i hope that made sense too

DUDE! Pickleman never got his credit card back from the back alley bread dealer!

Excellent issue & art btw... looking better every ish. Seems like RoG's satire and pox's art are really developing a distinct look and feel.
