I'm not bitching. I'm just saying that the experience is totally different when you see both parts together, versus one at a time. And I'm curious to see what my thoughts are after seeing them together. Just like I don't want to read Lord of the Rings until after I've seen all three extended versions of the films.

It's just the perspective I wish to have on the films. I don't see why that's such a big deal.

I have this feeling that when Kill Bill will be released on DVD, that instead of releasing the volumes sepretly, they'll be released at the same time, and in a box set.

From what I hear (and this is mostly rumor stuff), Tarintino wants to release volume 1, volume 2, and then both volumes both cut into one movie. that makes 3 different DVD releases, and he said he'd put different bonus features on all the DVDs.

The one that starts off with all the insane percussion and clapping is "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" by Santa Esmerelda. It's 10 and a half minutes long and it's got vocals that you don't hear in the movie.

I'm the guy that started this thread and I havn't had time to see it Can someone take care of my kids (except James). I don't believe Dr.boogie saw it, I took the wife and kids to see School of rock (very fun) and they where checking IDs for Kill Bill. I will go see it this week.

Boogie I thought we established the fact that your 14 almost 15 years old and if this is true and for the pure fact that your kinda slow in the noggen you could not have seen Kill Bill unless you snuck in and then that would be cool but for the fact that your 15 you most likely didn't really understand most of the "adult" situations, unless you live in a house where everyone swears and beats on each other and read alot of hardcore books by authors like Elmore leanord.

as for all of you highbrow types that keep saying people won't "get it," poooooo on you. i know nothing, NOTHING, about old japanese films, and i don't think it really matters. if anything it makes me want to learn more about the films qt is trying to emulate here, but i don't think i "missed" anything because i didn't pick up on all the subtle nuances.

the characters were a tad bit flat, but i think that will be made up for in the second movie. lucy liu was brilliant and her story/character made the film.

james? go see it in a theatre. seriously. there's no way in hell you could appreciate this on a 25, 27, even 35 inch tv.

All I meant by the fact that people in the showing I went to didn't "get it" was that they thought it was a crappy movie because of the blood geysers and all the wire-fu that took place. They didn't seem to realize that it was very deliberately done to be cheesy.

Then it's a bad movie. I look forward to seeing this again on dvd, I bet I will appreciate it. The theatre looks a lot better, but it'll still be good.
