I've always been a big fan of Universal's House of Horrors, because the sets inside are pretty awesome.
This year they had a Vampire (er, "Vampyre") theme. Thankfully, none of it was based on Twilight.
The horrors of overgrown vegetation!
Halloween spook house rule of thumb: you can never have too many skulls lining the walls.
Coffins built into the walls are always good for the aesthetics too.
Long as they stay on their side of the bars, we're cool.
Mr. Skeleton Pilgrim welcomes us all to his lovely home.
Fruity Yummy Mummy? Nope, just plain ol' Mummy.
Good thing he has all that gauze to help protect the wounds from getting infected.
Guarding their sacred tomb or just hanging out? We may never know.
Chucky, we already saw you on the Terror Tram, no need to hide in here too.
Where plush toys go to die.
Finally, something related to vampires! At least, I think she's a vampire.
More spooky silhouettes.
And again.
The huge Frankenstein lab will always be the best thing about this maze.
Another vampire, wandering around aimlessly in search of blood... or a paycheck.
Stupid vampire, she bit her own neck! Wait, how is that possible? Guess she's real flexible.
Stan's Discount Coffin Emporium.
Who's up for some bacon?
He is!
Chainsaw Rainbow Clown chased us away.
(side note: this guy actually turned out to be an I-Mockery fan. Nice running into ya, chum!)
FIRE! FIRE! FIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!
I only buy my produce from local, undead farmers.
Can't tell who or what this is, but I'm sure they're plenty scary, so let's just leave it at that.
FREE HUGS!
Alright, who's gonna volunteer to clean this colorful mess up?
I always love seeing the Frankenstein Parking lot sign. It's a great way to say goodbye to the park.
Of course, this year it was "Frankenstein Arkng" instead, but whatever. Close enough...
And that pretty much wraps things up for Universal's 2010 Halloween Horror Nights. While I definitely missed seeing the Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre themed mazes, I still had a great time at the park. The House of 1000 Corpses was a nice addition to the park, but here's hoping they bring back some more mazes based on the classic horror franchises next year, rather than ones based on modern remakes. Don't forget, if you missed all of Doc Mock's interview footage from the Eyegore Awards red carpet last Friday night, here's the two-part video of all the fun that went down:
PART 1:
PART 2:
Thanks again to Universal for giving us full access to the Eyegore Awards and Halloween Horror Nights once again this year. I'm sure we'll go again before the Halloween season is over! Either way, can't wait to see what's new come 2011!
