Halloween Horror Nights 2016 At Universal Studios Hollywood!
by: -RoG-

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood is back this season to scare everyone in SoCal who dares to enter their always entertaining selection of spooky seasonal attractions. In 2015, their mazes included Halloween: Michael Myers Comes Home, Insidious: Return to the Further, The Walking Dead: Wolves Not Far, AVP: Alien Vs. Predator, Crimson Peak: Maze of Madness, This Is The End 3D, and Terror Tram: Survive The Purge. In 2016, the mazes included Freddy vs. Jason, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers, Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Krampus, The Exorcist, and an outdoor "scare zone" area based on The Purge: Gauntlet of Fear.

Unfortunately, they skipped out on the Eyegore Awards ceremony once again last year, but I still hold onto the hope that John Murdy, the creative director of Halloween Horror Nights, will bring it back sometime. I didn't get to share these photos last year, so I'm sharing them now, as Halloween Horror Nights 2017 is quickly approaching.

In addition to the bazillion photographs you're about to be treated to, we did record some video footage both the Freddy vs. Jason and Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield mazes, and you'll get to see it all at the end of this pictorial. But first, it's time for you to walk with us as we make our way through all of the scare zones, monsters, and madening mazes of Halloween Horror Nights!

Disclaimer: It's really hard getting good photos in some of the haunt mazes due to the lack of light and scare actors moving around quickly, so please excuse the occasional blurriness.

Walking down the red carpet to see some of the attractions of the night.

John Murdy, the Creative Director of Halloween Horror Nights, excited to terrify attendees with his mazes once again.

And into the chaos we go.

First up, a walk through the Walking Dead.
I'm sure it's a good sign that there's a flaming helicopter crashed on top of it.

The waiting room was filled with people... and people's remains splattered on the walls.

Don't Dead. Open Inside.

She may have lost her lower torso, but she still wants to give you a hug.

Looks like Daenerys paid this guy a visit.

These constantly twitching corpses in the back of a truck were great.

A blurry photo of a walker that just popped up, but I like how it turned out.

Me thinks somebody got into the boysenberry pie.

Lady Liberty stands tall & proud in The Purge scare zone!

As always, the flames were blasting from atop this entrance.

Keep your politics out of my Halloween celebration.

The Grateful Dead reunion tour?

Fact: Betsy Ross was a skeleton when she sewed our flag.

Lady Liberty would feel right at home in a rave.

You can lead a skeleton horse to water...

Signing the Deadclaration of Independence.
HAHAHAHAHA SKELETON PUNS!

Into The Purge scare zone we go.

Graffiti reminding us to purge safely. Not sure there is such a thing.

Looks like a mutant three-eyed Krang.

"Purge Safely" they said.

Before throwing somebody in a cell, you might wanna take their knife first.

Kills of the day.

Michael Myers graffiti behind a Purge victim?

They sure love putting corpses on the roofs of cars.

I see you! A scare actor ducks behind a wall to jump out at the attendees.

If they film it, I'm totally ready for "The Purge: Fraternity Massacre".

Hiding in a corner is a guaranteed way to have a scare actor with a chainsaw come right up to you.

Especially when said scare actor has a bloody teddy bear for a face. He was so proud of scaring those two girls to death.

As you can see, there was some seriously nice lighting in this area.

Skeletons always look better with Xmas lights.

What a lovely ballerina!

Again, seriously nice lighting.

Oink, oink, my good man!

Clownin' around with chainsaws.

There's still more Halloween Horror fun to see!
