Halloween Horror Nights 2016 At Universal Studios Hollywood!

It's always a treat when they have A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th attractions.
It's extra special, when they combine both franchises for a Freddy vs. Jason maze!

As expected, the line to get in was long.

Loved that they paid homage to Wes Craven on the exterior of the glowing building.

It all starts off with Freddy Krueger, invading the dreams of young Jason Voorhees.

It's hard to shoot animated GIFs in such low light, but seeing a giant
Freddy worm devouring young Jason Voorhees was simply too amazing to pass up!
Easily my favorite visual of the entire night, and I wish this happened in the actual movie.

Heading into Camp Crystal Lake now.

Looks like mom is hanging around the campgrounds too!

Scarecrows are supposed to be made from real corpses right? Okay, cool. Just checking.

Jason sure does love propping up his victims. He's so proud to put 'em on display.

One, two... Freddy's watching you.

Well, Mr. T always said, "Treat your momma right."

Damn you, Google Maps!

She's missing her eyes. Anybody seen 'em?

I'm guessing Freddy knows where they are.

Freddy lost his head? But how!?

Oh that explains it.

The great thing about this maze is they'd switch the ending up, so sometimes Jason
would kill Freddy at the end, and other times, Freddy would kill Jason before you exited!

Nice of them to show some classic Universal Monster horror flick clips projected on the buildings while people wait in lines.

The absurdly long American Horror Story line. Dunno why this one was so long compared to the others.

A closer shot of the AHS maze facade.

Nice of them to greet you with such a non-creepy character upon entering the maze.

Sorry ma'am, but your healthcare plan doesn't cover anesthesia.

Come one, come all! Enter the gaping maw of the Freak Show!

It's the ol' saw-a-person-in-half trick.

Well, at least the audience certainly seems to be enjoying it.

Not sure if this guy enjoyed it though.

Some random body parts on display.

And more body parts.

I'm sure I would've enjoyed the maze more if I watched American Horror Story, but since I don't, it was just alright.

The Exorcist maze entrance.

Oh yeah, they were doing this one properly right from the start.

Demons always seem to make walking down stairs look so painfully difficult. Hope she takes yoga classes.

Yeah, she's totally fine.

Came to see Regan hovering over her bed. Left satisfied.

Revenge of the Mummy is still one of my all-time favorite indoor roller coasters. Such a fun ride with a 90s vibe.

We arrive at the entrance to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers maze.

Yep, seems like they're still grillin' and killin'.

The saw is family.

Damn you GoPro guy for blocking this shot.

Sometimes these blurry photos turn out to be amazing.

I guess somebody's not a part of the clean plate club!

Seeing Leatherface peek through some sheets to bid us a good night was a perfect way to end the experience.
You're such a looker, Leatherface.

Of course, it wouldn't be another year at Halloween Horror Nights
without our traditional shot of the Frankenstein Parking structure!

HALLOWEEN: HELL COMES TO HADDONFIELD MAZES!

And that about wraps it up for my extensive pictorial of Halloween Horror Nights 2016 at Universal Studios Hollywood. I hope you guys enjoyed checking out the photos and that they helped give you an idea of what it was like to walk through the mazes with me. Here's hoping they bring back the Eyegore Awards next year, because they were sorely missed this time around. See you in 2017, Halloween Horror Nights... can't wait to see The Shining maze you have planned for it!
