That looked awesome! I especially liked the piece about that old soviet era game. Who knows what other games they may have made that have gone extinct. Thanks for another great pics-o-rama!
Rog, the guy who let you in (James St. James) was one of the original club kids and knew Michael Alig, the guy that was involved in the murder of Andre “Angel” Melendez. James wrote a book about it called “Disco Bloodbath” that became the movie “Party Monster”. In the movie Alig was played by Macaulay Culkin and James was played by Seth Green.
I'm not much of a video gamer these days but I know what I like in a game. I have seen and played a lot of the games that this art was based on, especially the Zelda ones. Those were my favorite art pieces because those are the games my twin brother and I spent a lot of time beating. Also the Mario art was good, I suppose I'm a Nintendo fanboy. But not as big as some other people I know who own every Nintendo game ever.
Mmmh, delicious kitsch. One day we'll look back on those pictures and say "What were we thinking?" Kinda like people do these days when they see 80's interior designs.
Those little illustrations of games like Ghosts 'n' Goblins, Burger Time etc are downright awesome. No wonder many of them seem to be "red-dotted". I'd go for the Moon Patrol one myself.
Man, some of that art scared me *laughs* I found a few pieces I liked, though there were some from games I didn't recognize, so I'm sure that took away from some of the impact of the piece.
This might've been something answered before, but I'm guessing these pieces are also for sale? Any info on what things like those go for? (I'm presuming that's what the red dot means...sold.)
or maybe the red dot is the equivalent of the pirates black dot and soon the 8-bit mafia will come around and "take care" of the offending artwork... of such mysteries is the world made

(I think I had that Blanka figure in one of those paintings.)

Whatever Kirby sucks in he usually gains a hat resembling what he sucked in.
