Los
Angeles Trip - Feb. 2006
...continued

Not too far away lurked the Electronic Arts headquarters where my friend
John (buffalotom from the i-mockery boards) works. It may not look like
much from the outside, but he gave us the grand tour and goddamn that
place is niiiiiiiiiice. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take any
pictures of the inside, but believe me, this is a nice facility. They
don't have cubicles, they have giant OCTAGONS for each person. They have a
game room complete with classic neo geo arcade machines, pinball machine,
tabletop ms. pacman, massage chairs and more. I think those chairs shifted
my spine... and damned if it didn't feel goooooood. So yeah, they may be
known for working their employees into the ground, but EA definitely
provides them with a nice work environment. Too bad the employees are
usually too busy to enjoy it :/

More Hollywood and downtown LA shots. Wee

Sandy cliffs near the beach in Santa Monica

I think Pee-Wee Herman lives here.

The Santa Monica pier was insane. Loads of people, artists, amusement park
stuff, fishing, an arcade... not to mention some amazing views of the
skyline as the sun was setting.

NEVAR 4GET

FUN AND ADVENTURE ON THE PIER!

Sun or no sun, they're going swimming.

The pier posts were riddled with barnacles and various crustaceans.
BARNACLES!

Looks like the shit they put in the backgrounds of those "love ballad"
music collection CD commercials, doesn't it?

a

Never knew there was an arcade version of Mario Kart, but damned if it
wasn't fun. You can play as characters from Pacman in it AND it takes a
picture of you which it puts on the screen while you're driving.

Ms Pacman After Dark? I was worried that it was going to have Fabio's
"After Dark" album playing in the background, but instead, the characters
are all neon outlines and the game map is invisible. Weird arcade!

The sunsets are seriously unreal.

Art exhibit building constructed entirely of cargo crates :o

I really do love them.

A picture I took inside of the car at night while we drove past the
building that they blew up the top two floors of in the movie "Die Hard".
Supposedly you can see the difference in the paint color of the top two
floors when it's lighter outside. Yippee-ki-yay, motherfuckers.

Rodeo drive, where everything COSTS MORE THAN YOUR LIFE.
This
concludes my photo tour of my trip to Los Angeles. Hope you enjoyed it and
if you get the chance, visit the place for yourself and then make up your
own mind about it like I did... L.A. just might surprise you.
