Review: I came across the Midnight Syndicate whilst traipsing through a darkly lit room with fog bellowing from below. Some chains were clanging behind me. Then a werewolf popped out with a Neil Patrick Harris shirt on. Needless to say I was going through my friend's haunted house at the local fairgrounds. I asked him who was playing in the background because the music was really haunting. He popped the Midnight Syndicate disc out of the player and was like "BAM! Midnight Syndicate!" I asked him if it was okay just to take the soundtrack disc out of a haunted house while people were in it. He explained that it was, because he was head werewolf.

This particular disc of the MN is a retrospective and happens to have more songs on it than most of their other albums. It's nothing new or anything, but you certainly get the most bang for your buck here... if you purchase it. I'd really like to tell you that each track kind of stands out on its own, but it doesn't. You can actually listen to it from beginning to end and thoroughly enjoy the entire album but you most likely won't remember which song was which. It's completely instrumental / ambient aside from a few women crying here and there. There may be some words you can make out in the background, but nothing outright. A safe bet for this music would be either in a haunted house or an alternate theme for the Necropolis from Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (which they might actually do, but I can't remember what the song is). It's definitely worth checking out the album, but it's not all that memorable during the rest of the year unfortunately.
