Review: Snowmen aren't necessarily your first idea of a hero character. I mean, think about it; they melt easily, they break apart easily, and the moment the sun comes out they're screwed. But I guess depending on the territory they might be somewhat capable of saving anime-esque princesses from a freakishly androgynous super villain.

And that essentially explains the plot. Super-Androgynous kidnaps two snow princesses, and it's up to Nick and Tom, two snowmen, to save them. There's really not much else to say. The gameplay is pretty simple; you hit enemies with snow, turn them into snowballs, then roll them into other enemies. If you can't clear the level fast enough, an invincible pumpkin monster appears and tries to kill you. You only get three chances per life. Occasionally, you can pick up power-ups, but you lose them the moment you die. Every ten levels, you face a boss monster.

The game is fun; there's not much to write about it. Snow Bros. is a good time-waster, and it's easy to pick up and play. But I didn't like the pumpkin monster. 1) because he reminds me of the pumpkin guy from Animal Crossing (I hated that bastard), and 2) I feel like I'm being pressured. I get that enough in school. But maybe that's just a personal thing. All in all, it's a good game to play in the snowy seasons. Pick it up and give it a shot. Oh, and if you see the pumpkin guy, tell him I'm gonna kick his ass.

NOTE: If you're a fan of this game, you should also check the Halloween version of it on the Neo Geo system called "Nightmare in the Dark".

Between this game and Bubble Bobble, me and my friends must of clocked over 500 hours of play time.
It's just one of those games that's easy to pick-up and never gets old.

I long for the old days when videogames had a plot simple enough to let developers swim in the seas of entertaining gameplay. Good review, Tanuki!

This is one of my favorite nes games. When you get all three power up jams at the same time the game gets super easy.
