Review: I've always liked Norm MacDonald. I don't know what it is about the guy, but there's something very endearing about his style of humor. He seems to understand that the world is usually laughing at him instead of with him and that's something he's perfectly fine with. That being said, it should be no surprise that Norm put out a comedy album called "Ridiculous" a few years back. What surprised me is that it was supposedly 9 years in the making. Granted, I can't figure out how the hell something like this album would take 9 years to complete (I guess it was the Guns N' Roses of comedy albums), but it is a solid comedy CD nevertheless.

The nice thing about Ridiculous is that there's basically something for everyone on it. First off, it's not just a comedy CD from one of his live stand-up shows, it's almost entirely compromised of skits (except for the not-so-secret 13th track, entitled "Hidden Track"). In addition to Norm's great style, you'll find some good cameos on here as well including Molly Shannon, Jon Lovitz, Will Ferrell, Tim Meadows and more.

Some of my favorite tracks include:

-"The Fantastic Four" in which the other 3 members argue with Reed Richards (aka: Mr. Fantastic) about their lame names and how only his is the only one with "Fantastic" in it.

-"Tex Hooper" a 19-minute-long epic skit about a rugged, manly country music legend who disappeared from the music scene. Years later, a producer convinces him to return to record a new album and it turns out that this legend who was once idolized by fans for being a womanizing alcoholic is actually extremely gay.

-"The World's First Two Gay Guys", the title says it all. Two pioneers decide that they want to figure out a way to have sex without women.

-"Girls, Girls, Girls" is about a woman who has multiple-personality disorder and is being treated by a doctor for it. One of her personalities is a highly sexual person who turns on the doctor and just when he's reached the peak of his arousal she becomes one of her other personalities, a young 6-year-old girl, which immediately kills his mood.

While the album is hilarious in many areas, unfortunately there are some completely forgettable tracks on it, and for something that supposedly took 9 years to complete, you wouldn't think half of the tracks would be lackluster. But hey, this album is indeed "Ridiculous" and I can't imagine Norm would want it any other way.
