When Hayes caught the boy she put him in a headlock, picked up an order of hot french fries from the table and rubbed them into the boy's eyes for 10 to 15 seconds, according to police. The boy was crying and screaming throughout the entire incident. A Wal-Mart manager separated Hayes and the boy.

Hayes was extremely worried about the health of her baby and reacted in anger, said Lynda Hayes, her mother.
