So, in the year that I've been staying in this town, the only girls that are overtly interested in me are the twenty-something girl with two kids who works the night shift at Burger King, and my little brother's fifteen year old friend (who I've fortunately managed to avoid meeting).
Yes, it is indeed in a tanning bed. They insist because I am going to Cuba for March Break. I don't really know why it's necessary but, they are pretty adament.

In Rog's recent blog entry, he talks about elevator use, but something that confused me was his use of ground floor & first floor. I was under the impression that you Yanks refered to the ground floor as the first floor & counted up from there. Now Anglo-American language use contentions are too numerous for me to always remember all of them, but is this an internal United States problem rather than an internation issue?
i think it depends on the elevator manufacturer, to be honest

Some U.S. high-rise buildings follow the British system, often out of a desire on the part of the building's architect or owners to suggest a posh UK/ European setting.
They want you to look Cuban enough not to get your kidneys stolen.
