The only bad thing about this plan was that ordinary working families were going to end up paying more than the polluting corporations.

It was shelved for political, and economical reasons. French companies were going to be put at a disadvantage compared to their German counterparts, who wouldn't be paying the tax.

There was no "struggle" here, except for the continual attempts to make you see logic and reason.

Isn't that what I've been saying all along? Can't we agree that this hoax was meant to do this from the beginning. Make the ordinary people pay? Come on Zhukov, your so close.

Once again. That's the POINT. Drive down wages, industry, and allow 3rd world countries to pollute as much as they want. It's austerity for you. Not wallstreet.

Wrong,

There were TONS and TONS of Union strikes. It pretty much shut the whole country down. General strikes = struggle.

The strikes were because the workers were going to end up paying more than the corporations, because they were going to hurt the French economy, because more jobs would be lost when French manufacturers closed down and moved to Germany/China. Not because of the inherent lie of carbon pollution. There was no struggle by climate change detractors.

Quote:
France's biggest union, the CGT, said 180 protest marches were planned across the country.

"The issue is getting new direction in economic and social policies," said CGT leader Bernard Thibault, calling on Sarkozy to chart a new course in tackling unemployment and falling living standards.
http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp...vZopu3B562kpOA

There was no debate about the validity of climate change, and there was no 'victory' for the Climate Change Hoax whatever the fuck you would call yourselves collectively - it's gone back to the drawing board and discussions are planned.

As I am an elitist pig, I thought I would correct the obvious grammar and syntax errors in Coolie's last post:

1 - The punctuation should be a question mark, not a period.
2 - This is awkward in context - consider a revision.
3 - Incorrect usage of the pronoun for the contraction.

4 - This paragraph is fragmentary and choppy. Consider a revision.

5 - The word "tons" implies mass, not quantity. You should use the word "many". Also, using "tons" twice is redundant.
6 - The sentence subject should agree with the plural to which it refers.
7 - This is phrased awkwardly. Consider a revision.

I feel very bourgeois now.

France backs down on carbon tax plan

The plan would have made France the first big economy to tax harmful carbon emissions, aiming to encourage French consumers to stop wasting energy. But business lobbies feared it would penalise French industry.

Fillon stressed the risk of a competitive disadvantage if the tax were introduced only in France.

He said it would have to work at a European level so as "not to harm the competitiveness of French companies," according to several UMP deputies who met with him in parliament.

The strikes on Tuesday added pressure on Sarkozy.

You have to differentiate between who is the designated winners and who will be the losers.

If this Carbon Tax went through then the people who get their goods from countries other then France would have profited while industry in France would have been pretty much destroyed leading to more lay offs, austerity, and the lowering of the standard of living.

There are numerous players in this big Hoax. Even bad people can do good things every once in a while.

1. Created a orchestrated media hysteria about Carbon

2. Use this newly created climate cult to push for carbon legislation

3. Use the legislation to drive down the standard of living, impose austerity, and destroy productive industry.

4. Prope up a carbon speculative market while allowing goods from slave labor country (with no carbon restrictions) to flood in.

You can't applaud certain acts of the bourgeoisie while fighting against what they stand for. When the revolution comes it will be all or nothing.

I want to say about Global warming. The harmful emissions from commercially farmed animals cause distress on a global level as well as a human level. Ammonia and acetic acid vapors, which can irritate and burn the eyes, nose, and throat. Organic farming utilizes the natural pastures and health of the animals which benefits the animal, the environment and the human and helps to control the harmful emissions produced in farming.

Yes,

Factory Farms are a menace to society and the ecosystem but that has nothing to do with the Global Warming Hoax.

Elevators are not dangerous, in fact you have a higher probability of an accident if you take the stairs.

Bump. (apologies)

I thought this was a good summary of the AGW/no AGW debate, from a scientifically biased point of view. I say biased because, in this day and age, it has been politically divided, with the d's on one side and the r's on the other. The scientist credited with coining the phrase "global warming" back in the '70's was interviewed for the article, so it's good for a historical perspective as well.

I like the commentary below on this same page, where there still reside individuals ostensibly in the scientific community still denying the fact that temperatures are rising, whatever the cause.

From what I learned, 'climate change' is older than 'global warming' in the modern lexicon of retarded layman speak; are constantly changing terms in the world of evolving political speech. But the fucking fuckhead fucktards will lead you to believe that scientists have switched from one form of colloquialism to another in an attempt to undermine the casual observer. When its really just a matter of preferance.
