I don't see the concept of one monkey clubbing another as that revolutionary, considering that certain monkey species have been using rocks or branches to break open their food with for many years. It's interesting in a comparitive point of view with man, though. Basically monkeys are discovering that "beating nut with rock hurt less than beating nut with hand".

I think man's war-making, if stripped down to the basics, is about natural tendencies. Seeking wealth, power, territory and safety could be compared to becoming the dominant force in a pack of animals. But sentience makes things infinitely more complex. I tend to think of it as an evolutionary mistake.
