I just had Jamaican food almost exclusively for two weeks - there was Burger King, KFC, and Pizza Hut everywhere but I really liked the local stuff.

Nothing like jerk chicken cooked over a huge fire (they cook whole chickens and just chop them up with cleavers and wrap up the chunks) and fresh coconut water.

Oh, and Indian food too. You really suck at making polls if my two favorites aren't on there.

I knew an Indian-American kid in high school that I would eat lunch with sometimes. Once he brought some kind of rice dish from home, and I asked if I could try a small taste.

"Sure. It's very mild. You might like it."

I tried it.

As my tongue burst into flame, he said, "See? Very mild."

That day I learned that "mild" is a totally subjective term.

Indians, Mexicans, and most middle-easterners tend to have weaker taste buds (genetically) than other races, which is why their food is so spicy.

That's what I've been telling my family for years. I refuse to have any of the Macdonald's or Burger King shit. But homemade or diner burgers are good.

A couple of years ago in home ec class some kid stole a clove of garlic and he ate it and threw up all over the place. Our spaghetti dinner was ruined!

Wendys is still pretty good. There's a drive through where I live that makes awesome burgers, and great shakes too. The moral of the story; fast food can be good.

Yeah right. They eat spicy food because spices grow there, and they are used it.

i love all middle eastern, indian and greek food.

it helps that i'm a vegetarian and they seem to cater to that lifestyle a little more than most of the others.

i had turkish food when i was in england and it was fantastico. so was the curry. mmmmm, curry.
