I think it's fair to compare any war to any other war on the grounds they they are both wars, and have at least that in common. Future historians certainly will make these comparisons.
Whether this one goes down as an event that changed history for the better, or as an act of agression based on false pretense and greed, well, I've my suspicions how most non-American historians are gonna write it.
