Old Jan 15th, 2005, 08:03 PM        Finally... got a new digital camera :p
I've been using an old 2.1 megapixel Canon Powershot A20 for years now, and it's always frustrated me that I wasn't able to take the crisp closeup photos that I really wanted to. Well, tonight I finally went out and got a peachy keen new camera. Check it out:

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicfz20

Now I'll be able to take super-crisp photos for the site and whatever else I need. HOORAY! :o

Yeah, really. I'm trying to pay attention to a four-page thread about a psuedo-schitzophrenic who has a soft spot for phpBB code here.

12x optical, not bad. I wonder if the CCD chip on this one really can register enough information to take advantage of the 5Mpx resolution, I know neither Sony's DSC-P100 nor the Ixus 500 can.

Everything I've read up on it suggests that it's a really solid camera, and if you check out some of the samples of photos that were taken with it from that site, you'll see that it'll be a huge improvement on what I've been using. Plus, it'll be really good for Re's art stuff...

Jesus, that's some macro. And one of the big problems with digital cameras, both still and video ones, is that it's really hard to get the background out of focus, so that pigeon picture looks damn impressive.

How does this help Re, do you mean so she can take hi-res photos of her paintings, or is she doing digital photo manipulation as well?
