She's basically famous for being rich. She's a celebrity in the sense that Donald Trump used to be. She's rich, and by association she's famous because she knows other rich people who are also famous.
She also had a sex tape leaked out onto the internet, which just made her more famous. She's literally famous for being a rich slut.
