eeh, i think glow is being too hard on him.
i have a friend of ten years or so who has parents like these, maybe not to that extent, but i definitely see it as being real and not (too much anyway) of an exaggeration. and it's a fucking terrible environment to be in. not directly, but just as a place one has to call home to be that distant from you and treat you as a burden where they would try to mold into you for their lifestyle instead of recognizing who their kid is.
